We had a great time at the Costa Del Folk Festival in Carvoeiro, Portugal in October. It’s a fantastic festival in a great setting; sun, music, sea! We arrived at Faro airport, along with a few a bunch of other musicians that we got to know over the course of the festival, and were escorted to our hotel in a coach with witty commentaries by Mike Harding! We really enjoyed our gigs, plus the two sets we did with Forro Porro, which is the four piece with Sam and Gary of the Hut People. And the great thing about playing festivals is we get the chance to watch other bands, and also to hang out with the other musicians and have a natter! We caught superb sets from The Demon Barbers (also enjoyed their clogging, rapper, morris and hip hop workshops!), Rob Heron and The Teapad Orchestra, New Rope String Band, Coco And The Butterfields, Sally Barker, Show Of Hands, The Young ‘Uns (who also led a hilarious sing around in the swimming pool!) The highly entertaining Mighty Doonans, Flossie Malavialle, Harpeth Rising, Steamchicken, Robin Garside, Wizz Jones & Tim Edey (in no particular order!) plus some super sessions led by Karin Grandal- Park and Rosie Clegg. The festival finale was a real treat when the Mighty Doonans invited us, the Young ‘Uns, Demon Barbers, Mike Harding, Dave Burland, & Karin & Rosie up to sing Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young” with them” Here are some pics!
