We’re really pleased to have been invited to deliver workshops in this fantastic project, The Sensational Stroke Ensemble, which is a group that enables Stroke survivors and their friends and relatives to meet together socially, to work creatively and experimentally as an ensemble to compose and perform music, plus playing and singing songs together with a bit of informal songwriting thrown in too! In some sessions we’ve been experimenting and having fun with boomwhackers, New Orleans rubboards, cha cha bells, vibraslaps and more. We’ve lead three sessions so far, and it’s been really positive for everyone involved. (Previously the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra had been leading the group, and at that time the project was known as Strokestra.) The sessions take place at The Albemarle Centre, Hull, in partnership with Hull Music Hub.
