‘Out of The Box’ Mambo Jambo & Joe Martin, Hull Jazz Festival

We’re really excited about this project: we’ve been commissioned by Hull City Arts Development Team  to write new music, and will be performing along with some other fantastic musicians, as part of Hull Jazz Festival. As Mambo Jambo we love all sorts of music and don’t want to confine ourselves to playing only one genre! And writing new music with Joe Martin, our old friend that we love playing with, has been a joy!
The event is on from 12 noon to 5pm, and our 20 minute slot is at 3pm. It’s free, and it’s at The Albemarle Music Centre, Hull

2pm Stephanie Halsey (harp) with Beats Bus; Kobby Taylor: Our Love (love story inspired by Maya Angelou & Elizabeth Browning

3pm Frankie Banham, Pete Jack & Joe Martin: Mambo Jambo (a wildly eclectic mix of latin, jazz, folk, Balkan and classical fusion flavoured by flamenco rhythms!)

4pm Samatar Elmi with local singers: A Darker Light (spoken word and choral arrangements)
